Intolerant, gay-hating Pastor Dennis Terry Prays Over Rick Santorum, Wants To "Put God Back In Washington DC" And Wants Other Religions to "Get Out" - Concerned Yet?

By Kathleen

Rick Santorum attended a community service at Greenwell Baptist Church on Sunday. Santorum was introduced by Pastor Dennis Terry who raved at his flock:

There is only one God and his name is Jesus. I'm tired of people telling me that I can't say those words.. Listen to me, If you don't love America, If you don't like the way we do things I have one thing to say - GET OUT. We don't worship Buddha, we don't worship Mohammad, we don't worship Allah, we worship God, we worship God's son Jesus Christ."

Well I'm tired also. I'm sick and tired of listening to these fanatics who wish to impose their prejudiced views on everyone else. Christian fundamentalists who want the country run under their God's Law. Forget about separation of God and State because Dennis Terry will give it to you straight, he wants to see:

"God back in America. God back in the pulpits. God back in our homes and in our statehouse and then back in Washington D.C."

This is a video from this event on Sunday, March 18, 2012 - Dennis Terry introduces Rick Santorum (courtesy of "RightWingWatch.org"):

At the end of the event, Dennis Terry prayed over Rick Santorum:

What more can I say about Dennis? Dennis is the pastor who has likened homosexual people to "thieves, alcoholics and drug users":

Preaches that "homosexuality is simply a perversion of God's plan for the human race":

And that "nobody has ever been born gay":

Can you feel the love? And this is the guy who wants his God to favour Rick Santorum as the GOP candidate for the Presidency. No surprise there folks.

Readers can listen to more of Dennis Terry's cumbersome and inept reasoning against homosexuality at this link

Having established the good pastor's credentials let's review what Rick Santorum had to say for himself on the night. According to the blog Right Wing Watch, Santorum was interviewed at the service by former marine, Tony Perkins the President of the Family Research Council. The Family Research Council was founded in 1983 by James Dobson, better known as the father of Focus on the Family. The Southern Poverty Law Center describes The Family Research Council's idealogy as primarily anti-gay and that its real speciality is in defaming gays and lesbians. One of the main aims of the Family Research Council is to scare the American public into believing that homosexuals are secretly planning to gain access to children in order to sexually abuse them.

Another aim of the FRC is to reinstate the unjust "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy for those serving in the military. This was the focus of Perkin's discussion with Santorum who pledged to Perkins that he would restore "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" if he were elected because the repeal was not "in the best interest of our men and women in uniform."

There you have it gentle reader, Santorum thinks that it is OK for gays and lesbians to serve their country but don't tell us that you are doing so. We don't want to know that.

So my question for Santorum is, why fix something that isn't broken when even General James Amos who originally criticised the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" now accepts that the repeal hasn't caused any problems and that there hasn't been any indication of mass resignations due to the new policy?

Perhaps Santorum would repeal DADT because he is a blundering fool and a panderer to the truly stupid and ignorant anti- homosexual views of those such as Dennis Terry and Tony Perkins. This outlook and a whole host of other backassward views could plunge America into a darker age all in order to satisfy the Christian Right's ignorant desire for what their America should be. These people shouldn't even be allowed to call themselves conservative christians because they are not. They are regressive christians. Or even repressive christians. Mostly they are interested in no-one's freedom but their own and they will do everything to take your freedom from you or tell you to get the hell out of their country if you say that you don't like it. Get ready people or it will happen.
